SummerSongs
A camp for singer/songwriters that is nothing short of magical. The brainchild of Penny Nichols, there are summer and winter camps (SummerSongs and WinterSongs respectively) held in August and February. The original camps are in the Catskill Mountains of New York, but a West Coast version of each camp has been added in California. SummerSongs is a week long, and WinterSongs is a "long weekend," usually President's Day weekend. There are classes, concerts, coffeehouses, jamming and everything a s/s could possibly dream of doing with a group of peers in a mountain paradise.

Papa Joe's MySpace page
My fabled MySpace page, where you can hear four of my songs (whether you want to or not), see a slideshow of pics, and see the troubled souls who actually consented to be on my 'friends' list.

FAWM
FAWM (February Album Writing Month) is a group of songwriters who commit to writing 14 songs during the (normally) 28 days of February. The idea is to movitvate writing, then share ideas, feedback, etc. by posting lyrics or demos for others to see and react to. There are no prizes, but for those who accomplish this goal, there is, of course, the admiration of fellow songwriters and, of course, 14 new songs!
